Workshop Overview
Learn how to build a multi-disciplinary patient and family centered (PFCC) simulation program in your hospital or home care agency to improve pediatric discharge education and care at home. This will provide the building blocks for clinicians on how to supercharge discharge by providing patients and family caregivers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need.
Format
The workshop is 3-session virtual series that will incorporate a variety of learning experiences that include:
- Pre-session podcasts, video presentations, readings, and other activities
-Three 2.5-hour interactive sessions featuring presentations, large and small group activities, case studies, and toolkit development presented by recognized experts from across the nation.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the Ready Sim Go Virtual Series participants will be able to:
-Describe how the shift of care from hospital to home impacts pediatric patients and families and their learning needs
-Identify the key findings of PFCC simulation reflected in the growing body of literature in the past five years.
-Understand the advantages of hands-on interactive learning though simulation for pediatric patients and families to provide evidence-based care at home.
-Develop a plan to build a multi-disciplinary PFCC simulation program in their institution or home care agency.
Continuing education credits for nurses, physicians and other healthcare providers will be offered.
